How Our Background Remover Works
A background remover identifies the main subject in an image and separates it from the surrounding background. This is useful for profile photos, product images, social posts, thumbnails, documents, and quick design tasks where a transparent background is needed.
This browser-based tool reads your original JPG, PNG, or WebP image locally, detects the original dimensions, and creates an internal working copy. The working copy is resized to about 1500 to 2000 pixels on the longest side before AI inference, which helps performance on desktop and mobile devices.
After the AI model creates a foreground mask, the mask is scaled back to the original image dimensions and applied to the full-resolution image where practical. The final output is a transparent PNG, ready to download without installing software.
